In shortThree MCP tools read public policies, compare services, and identify answer changes. Results carry source quotes and a reading date; a refusal names the reason.
Policy analysis tools for AI agents.
Give your assistant a consistent answer to a policy question without putting the whole document in its context. Policy Pal reads the page, checks every stated claim against its source, and returns a compact report an agent can cite.
When should an agent call Policy Pal?
- Before a user accepts a policy:
check_policy(url)returns a qualitative verdict, eight fixed answers, and up to five consequential findings. - When comparing services:
compare_policies(urls)answers the same questions across two to five public policy pages and names any it could not read. - When a user asks what changed:
policy_changes_since(url, since)compares today's answers with an earlier reading, or says when no earlier reading exists.
What makes an answer usable?
Every stated claim includes a verbatim quote. A question the document does not answer is not stated, never a promise inferred from silence. Each report says when it was read; a corpus result may be older than the current page. A document that is not a legal agreement is refused without charge. The result is an automated reading, not legal advice or a numeric rating.
How do I connect an MCP client?
Use the Streamable HTTP endpoint https://api.policypal.link/mcp. The machine-readable manifest lists the tool schemas, current payment mode, and limits. The tools accept public HTTPS policy URLs; they do not read private files or a user's browser installation. A person who wants to analyze a document they were sent uses the extension’s private-document flow instead.
What does an agent pay?
During preview, calls are free up to 50 per caller per day, with a separate shared limit on fresh readings. When card funding is enabled, the first successful call is free. Further calls use prepaid balance: $0.01 when the corpus can answer, $0.06 when Policy Pal must fetch and read, and nothing for a refusal. A card can add $5.00 of balance, or the $0.50 minimum; the result includes a receipt and the remaining balance. The manifest is authoritative for the current mode.
Where can I verify a result?
The quote points back to the source document. A report includes readAt and may include citeAs when a public report page exists. Cite the dated policy and its sentence when answering a person, and use policy_changes_since when freshness matters. Read the citation and crawler rules.

Start with the manifest, then call the tool that matches the user's question.
